Hendrick grinned at the praise, then startled a little as Jamie crawled over to him, purring and nuzzling and kissing at him until Hendrick responded with greasy kisses and passion while Ivannya burst into teasing giggles at the sheer ridiculousness of the sight.

"Jamie's up to feeling playful, then," she laughed to Toffee. "One time, in the tiny shitty apartment, we had a real food fight, did you know?"

"No, no I didn't." He watched Hendrick and Jamie playing with a sense of delight.

Ivannya said, with her mouth full, "Jamie started it because I asked if we could eat out again and he started throwing fruit at me and I squirted mustard all over him, and then Hendrick joined in with salad toppings, and Master started going in with some wet spaghetti and everything got absolutely everywhere," she was laughing so hard her stomach hurt by the end.

"But nothing that was going to be too hard to clean up right?" He was giggling too, and he reached for a garlic knot to nibble on.

"Noo, we got all into it--frozen meatballs and jars of pasta sauce and even apple juice," she laughed at the memories. "It took us daaaays to clean it all up and we all had to--even Master mopped the floor and we had to repaint that ugly kitchen," and her eyes sparkled at the memories. "It was a total free-for-all."

"Oh! Did, did you at least manage to make the kitchen look a bit better with the new paint?" He asked through his laughter.

"We did, I think. Any color is better than old piss and rust stains," she chortled, and then wolf-whistled as Jamie and Hendrick added kissing and biting into their wrestling and squirming.

"Oh." He hesitated, then crawled over to their master, leaning against him hopefully.

Barba dug a hand into Toffee's hair, scratching and pulling gently, and leaned to kiss him and arrange him by his feet. "My gentle darling," he murmured. "How good and patient you are."

"They...look good together." He commented hesitantly, staying just where Master Erik had put him.

"Do you like watching them together?" Barba asked, voice rich and dark. "Do you want to be an audience, my love?"

"I like seeing how much they're enjoying themselves." He told Master Erik, glancing up with a smile. "And...at least for now I do."

Barba glanced over and observed them for a few moments, how they were more playing than anything else, and decided not to worry. "If things become too much, we'll go up together and relax in bed," he murmured to Toffee. "You've been helpful today. How was Jamie earlier? Did he do too much?"

"He was anxious at first, but he did manage to calm down." He giggled a bit. "Think maybe he was trying to set a good example for me."

Barba smiled darkly and nodded. "I can imagine he wants to model how to be good for you. Tell me if he gets a bit too fussy--I know Jamie is very protective of his domain of running the house. He hasn't been bossing you around, has he?" he asked as it occured to him.

"No, not really, it's more guiding me when I need his help." He explained as he thought back over the past month.

"Good, good," Barba said, relieved. He watched Toffee and followed his eyes to the others--Jamie giggling and wrestling with Hendrick, alternating kisses and bites with grappling, and Hendrick matching and maneuvering him, breaking his concentration every time Ivannya said something particularly funny as she narrated them as if they were a Pet Wrestling League match, crowing at Hendrick's defeats. "I think it's good to rebalance every now and again," he said. "To have time to remember that you are pets, to kneel and have relied. How do you feel now?"

"Uh, calmer and safer." He hadn't been indulged like this since the Institute, if he even was back then.

"Good," Barba said. "My pretty boy," and he kissed him sharply. "When you need this--or just a piece of this--you ask for it. Understood? Or if you think I need it, or they do," he added on awkwardly. Admitting that his pets took such care of him out loud was rather strange.

"Let you know when I need to kneel and be taken care of." He nodded understanding.

"Yes, and also--" he paused, and then carefully phrased what he wanted to say, arranging every syllable as if it were an opening statement in court. "Remember that you are mine, my darling. You aren't going to be given away or left all alone--not even if it takes you years to be ready." He left the for what up to interpretation. "You are still mine, you are held, I think of you as I do them as well." And in the background, Jamie had gotten Hendrick's shirt off, and Barba could well anticipate things progressing further quite rapidly.

"Thank you. Uh...should we put the leftovers away before we go up to bed?" He asked softly.

Barba hummed for a second, and when the sounds turned rather wet and loud he made the decision quickly. "They can clean it all up before they come up," he said clearly, and added, "Don't turn around, my sweetheart--come up with me. You're not allowed to turn around, just follow me," he said, and stood up quickly, careful to not step on Toffee in any way, and led him out to the stairs.

He kept his eyes completely on Master Erik and followed him, even if it didn't seem fair that the others would have to clean up once they were done while he got to go straight to bed.

Barba, now rather sharply attuned to Toffee's mood, explained simply, "If they're going to start right in front of you, after I've forbidden it, cleaning up is the absolute least they could do." And, pleased with the obedience, "Good boy. Now follow me up--you can crawl up the stairs--and absolutely don't look at them."
