Matt giggled more, only very very stupid pets worry about that, he laughed, when we were five to a cage used to get bled on, towels are nothing so close.

"Or very spoiled pets." He joined in Golubushka's giggles as Jamie retreated. "Bit surprised Ivannya isn't on long term contraception."

"She's got an IUD. But she still bleeds." Toffee explained brightly.

Matt made a noise of gentle sympathy, and said to Treacle, you and your Jamie have been so kind, sorry for all the extra work.

"Sometimes makes Jamie feel better if there's extra work, justifies all his planning and worrying." He tried to reassure Golubushka. "I'll pack your project up for you."

Can put the rubber things on the ends of the needles? So the stitches don't get all yanked off? Matt asked softly, eyes wide and trying to be pleadingly pretty, nervous coldness rising up in him and so old instincts took over, being cute and beautiful to get things, any requests.

"Of course. I know how to pack a knitting project for transport." Toffee sounded offended, and that was a reassuring sign, but Golubushka obviously wasn't in a mood to realise that.

He moved over to wrap an arm around Golubushka's waist.

"Is okay, don't need to beg pretty for things, not with other pets, all good pets, no snoot in air status symbols."

Matt smiled and wrapped an arm around his waist, gentle cheel

Matt smiled and wrapped an arm around his waist, gentle cheek-presses and soft little hums, and murmured back, know we argue, see some things totally differently, but you are good, kind, care so much. Glad to know you here. Glad to be here today.

"Glad to have you here." He murmured back, soft, soft, even as Toffee made angry noises.

"Ivannya's not stuck up!" He finally burst out.

"No, she isn't, but some status symbols are, why I never took you to the private pet park Danny takes me to." He clarified.

Sorry, just automated responses, Matt apologized immediately, just--old habit, very very hard to break. Apologizing for everything. For breathing.

"It's okay. I've got stuff like that too." He joined in hugging Golubushka, and then Jamie came back in, with more towels, and a bowl of water.

Thank you, Matt murmured, mopping at his face and wincing, putting the new ones on and his ears prickled up, he could hear a taxi outside.

"Let me try to clean your face up a bit?" He offered, dabbing a washcloth in the bowl of water.

Matt murmured a yes but sat up tense and when the doorbell rang he sprang up and swayed a little before going to make his way towards his Foggy, plastering a sweet smile on his face.

She reached the door first, and opened it with Danny hovering just behind her.

"Hello sir, and you are?" She tilted her head to show off her collar just a bit.

"Hi, I'm Foggy Nelson--I'm here for my Matt? He said this was the right address, he came to visit his friend Toffee," Foggy said politely, offering a friendly smile and not moving to shake hands necessarily. He noted the elaborate collar, and the very well-dressed pet, and noted to himself that this was a very, very rich person's house.

She stepped back, letting him into the house.

"Come on in then, I'll just go and get him from the nest. Would you care for a drink?"

"Uh, it depends on how my Matt is," Foggy said carefully. "And how this whole excursion's gone. Did anything happen?" he asked, giving a coolly suspicious aside glance to Danny Rand, who looked pretentious in his ostentatiously scruffed-up shoes.

"He threw up, I'm not sure why. But he's been in the nest for most of his visit, and I had to leave when Master Barba and Hendrik left so Danny wouldn't be alone." She felt the oddest urge to step between Danny and this shifty looking man.

"Ah," Foggy said, and focused away from Rand. "Well, I'll just talk to him for a minute, then. Matt?" he called down the hallway, sure Matt could hear him with his terrifyingly acute ears, and sure enough, there he was coming, with a towel over his nose and an adorable smile on his face, and Foggy immediately lavished a kiss on his forehead and a warm hug, putting his arm around Matt's waist and holding him close.

"We noticed that Golubushka prefers not to have assistance unless he asks for it, even if he was kind enough to support Toffee up the stairs." Jamie added in pre-preemptive defense as he followed Golubushka.

"Yeah, he's very independent," Foggy nodded, grinning widely and brightly at Matt. He couldn't help it, he was besotted. "It's wonderful, isn't it? He's lovely."

He could smell the blood from Golubushka as Ivannya and Jamie made noncommittal noises.

"Sometimes independence can lead to difficulties though." He put in softly.

"I...sure?" Foggy said, baffled at how creepy that comment was, and drew Matt a little closer. "How did your nose start bleeding, was it just one of the spontaneous ones?" They'd happened about twice or so.

Matt shook his head and winced. "Walked into door. Actually into it this time," he said, shaking his head and laughing. "Always say that, but was a door this time, not a glass or a fist."

He smiled gratefully at Danny for trying to hint to Golubushka's master that he'd got hurt by not asking for support.

"He came back from washing his hands after eating, and I think he must have tripped on one of the cushions in the nest or something. Do you want to come and sit with Golubushka until his nose has stopped bleeding?"
