Golubushka's been put on three weeks of bed/couch-rest and is bored out of his skull. Him, Dove, and possibly also Feral get put to have some time together for a change of pace.

Raspberry is insisting that she wants to go out now that she's more recovered than she was before, and once she's out of the clinic on her way to a park, Ward joins her.

After Golubushka and his Foggy spend a few days having an utterly cozy vacation in upstate New York in a cat-friendly cabin, they end up spontaneously having some sexual contact and Golubushka wants to celebrate and process with his closest pet-friends who he knows can help him stay happy and excited and work through any traumatic feelings.

Tony Stark's criminal and civil trials are finally beginning, and Golubushka needs all the support he can get while he has to go and testify, be cross-examined, and be in the same room as the man who abducted him and who is still utterly unrepetant about it.

Feral's Foggy and Golubushka's Foggy both win a contest for a free weekend pet suite at a fancy hotel, and decide to take the weekend vacation to give their Matts all a chance to have a break from normal stresses and responsibilities.

Dove tells Foggy and Feral when Instructor Hart lets him work on his full gymnastics routine again, and they take him out to have dinner at a jazz club the next night to celebrate.

"I want to go OUTSIDE," she said, pure exasperation coming off of her. "I want to LEAVE THIS ROOM, and go to a place that ISN'T THESE ROOMS," she complained to Joy. "It's so stuffy in here, I'll wear a sweater and everything, I'll come back before dark, everything."

"We can't let you go out alone," Joy said thoughtfully, "But the rest might yet be possible."

And, it turned out, it was.

Raspberry felt very much like a marshmallow as she was wheeled outside by Joy, wearing hospital scrubs with green fir trees on them under a thick deep pink wool jacket. Joy was wearing a scarf and hat made for her by clinic pets, in various brown wools, and Raspberry herself was layered with a sweater, two blankets, a very warm scarf and hat, and gloves (not mittens, she'd threatened to cry), and her hair was neatly braided under her hat. And as they left the clinic's area and actually got onto a sidewalk, a person suddenly walked over and joined them--Ward?

"Ward," she breathed and smiled at him brightly. "How are you now? Better?"

While relations between Treacle and Golubushka have calmed down and they've come to an uneasy friendship, Golubushka's Foggy and Treacle's Danny Rand are both decidedly chilly towards each other. But when Treacle and his Danny have an enormous, hurtful misunderstanding that they can't muddy their way through on their own, the wizards decide Golubushka and his Foggy can help, and put them right there to do so.

He grinned, keeping a safe distance at first and acting somewhat skittish, not knowing how Joy was going to react to him.

He'd left (escaped?) the clinic while still drugged after the whole crazy subway thing with Golubushka, finding it easier to hide and recover alone.

"I'm well," he said evasively. "How are you? Recovering?" he asked, far more worried about her.

"I'm recovering," she said brightly. "I am--I don't even need the CPAP machine sometimes at night, and the PT is letting me walk half a mile total in the sessions. With breaks, but that's better than before. And now they're FINALLY letting me outside," she said pointedly.

Ward smiled brightly, "That's really good to hear. And I just happen to be headed in the same direction," he said mock, casually. "Weird, eh?" he teased, intending to follow so long as he felt it was safe.

"Weird coincidence," she agreed, and then smiled mischievously. "Do you want to hear how two residents got suspended because of me?"

He raised his eyebrows and turned, walking backward so that he could pretend to look at her while they talked. He'd been practicing seeming sighted more lately and it was good to practice. Not like he needed to see where he was going, hahah. "Tell all..." he prompted happily.

"Well one night I heard a strange...rattling...noise in my sleep, and so I woke up, but I didn't open my eyes yet," she explained, leaning forwards. "And then a strange..whispery sound, like clothes against other clothes...a fevered whisper from one person to another, and then moans..shrieks..screams like a small child...and then I slowly, carefully, peeked through one eye..." she held the suspense out, "And I saw Dr Ross and Dr Amalia having...carnal relations in my room, on the table in the corner."

He made a sour face. "Gross. Why in your room? Aren't there closets or bathrooms for that kind of thing?"

"Apparently, because the closets have motion sensor activated cameras, they thought they wouldn't get caught if they did it in my room when one was supposed to be monitoring me," she said darkly. "Now they're suspended."

He grinned a little, "Unless that's something you enjoy watching..." he said suggestively, laughing a little.

She burst into giggles. "People having sex just look stupid and kind of ugly, and these doctors were pretty funny. I just wish they hadn't woken me up, it was a little freaky there."

He scrunched up his face, "Did you let them finish or did you scream for help?" he shook his head in disgust. "Obviously there's people out there who like it, but ugh. I've never enjoyed it, its messy and painful and," he shrugged. "Why would anyone do it for fun?"

"I stared at them until they noticed and got all shrieky and I pulled off the heart monitor to get more nurses in," she explained, a mischievous smile. "If you do that, the heart machine thinks you're dying and it always sends people into the room."

She blinked at his last statement. "I think it can be fun," she said with a shrug. "With the right person, in the right place. And I've seen people have a great deal of fun with it. Sometimes lots at once."

Next class, this time on how their trauma is causing them fear when they want to try new things or have dreams.

"Maybe for the person doing it to the other, but I wouldn't want to hurt someone like that just for fun," he reasoned and as he walked backwards deftly stepped to the side to avoid bumping into a pedestrian.

"I don't think you have to hurt someone to be having fun like that," she said a little carefully. "I've seen it where nobody gets hurt. Besides, you're not stupid, you wouldn't use yogurt or do dumb things like that."

He huffed, finding that hard to believe. Sex was about asserting power over another person; power was about causing pain. He wasn't even sure what the yogurt was about.

He avoided a bump in the cement, still cautious of everything and everyone around him.

He pulled a box of chocolate candies out of his pocket and ate a few before offering some to Raspberry. "Want some? What are they called? They're really good." He'd found them on a bus bench, obviously left behind accidentally.

Dove seemed excited when they got home, in an understated way, and Matt pulled him in for a kiss.
