He placed the cushion and knelt formally. The anticipation felt really good. "At my practice today, Instructor Hart pulled me aside to talk to me, I've been good lately and following the safety rules he set out for me, and my handling on the bars the way he wants is becoming much smoother. he's letting me work on my full routine again."

he smiled, and waited for Foggy and Matt's reaction, hoping to make them proud. it meant he was getting over his slump, that he was being good and obeying like he should, and after all the bad things he'd done lately it felt so good to have something positve to tell them.

"Oh, that's wonderful news!" Matt moved down to hug Dove in pleasure.

"Foggy, can we take him out to that jazz club we found tomorrow night?"

"Yes, yes we can."

Dove felt overflowing with happiness to have made Matt happy. And for Foggy to feel proud enough of him to want to take him somewhere special with Matt, that felt wonderful. he hugged Matt tightly.

"Foggy, thank you!"

"You're welcome sweetheart. I'll lay out some clothes for you to change into before we come home, and we can have a snack before we go out tomorrow."

He felt like he was bursting with joy. He kissed Matt and then followed Matt back up onto the couch and kissed Foggy on the cheek. He would have done more than that but he knew to wait for permission or prompting from Matt to show more affection to Foggy.

He hugged Dove, and glanced over at Matt.

"Go ahead sweetheart." Matt told Dove with a smile.

He was still careful, only following Foggy's lead but enjoying the affection he received. He touched his lips to Foggy's and enjoyed the moment.

Matt gave Dove and Foggy time to enjoy themselves, and only stood to finish preparing supper when they separated.

It felt kind of thrilling to submit to Foggy's attention with Matts supervision and approval.

He was always careful around Foggy, mindful to keep Matt always forefront in his thoughts. Always careful not to overstep any boundaries Matt wanted him to keep. ANd he got the impression that Foggy handled him carefully with Matt in mind as well.

It made his relationship with Foggy safe but complicated. As much as he yearned for more affection from Foggy he kept it all tightly under control.

But this was different, the control was in Matt's hands, and Dove found himself swept up in Foggy's kiss and very willing until Foggy pulled back.

He was left breathless and reached for Matt's hand for reassurance that everything was okay.

"My beautiful sweet Dove." Matt pulled Dove's hand to his lips, kissing his wrist reassuringly.

"Want to come and do the naan and rice for our supper with me?"

He felt good, happy that Matt was pleased with him.

"Yes please, I'd like to help," he agreed, following Matt to the kitchen. There was so much that he'd learned and could do alone now that he couldn't when he'd first come to be with Matt and Foggy, and he felt proud of these achievements too.

"Do you know how much time I have left before I pay off what I owe on the settlement?" he asked. After that, he'd still have to wait for the surgery until after the competition, but after that, he could only imagine how good it would feel to be better for them.

"You've got thirteen weeks left. And your next competition is in just over two months." Instructor Hart had said that if Dove was ready to start doing his full routine with two months or more to the competition he had in mind the Academy would sponsor Dove to it.

"Did I make it in time to be sponsored?"

Thirteen weeks still felt like forever. Maybe there was a way he could do extra work to pay off his correction faster. Unless the time was part of the correction, which would make sense too.

"Is there a way I can pay it off faster?"

"You made it in time to be sponsored, yes." Matt hugged Dove. "And we can ask Foggy about reviewing your financial habits to see if it's reasonable to adjust your payments."

He hugged Matt tightly, feeling so relieved. It would have been difficult to justify the cost of competition if he wasn't sponsored.

"I'd like that, to discuss my finances with you and Foggy, please." Because the amount Foggy was allocating for payments was only some of the earnings he made for them. He knew he could give up more because he needed very little. And he could work harder.

"I know, you don't feel like you need as much money as you have access to, but it's important that you have it, so that if you really do need it - like if you had to get a taxi or something - it's there." Matt kissed the top of Dove's head before disengaging and turning to the cooking.

"Would you like to try to handle the rice, or the naan?"

"I'll do the rice," he offered because it was simpler. He wasn't going to argue about the money, he would go with whatever decision Matt and Foggy made for him, but he wanted to try.

"Maybe if I find more work to do?" He asked.

"We'd rather you didn't try to do that. It looks bad if we send you out to work."

"I understand, I won't." He nodded and focused on the rice. And he wasn't going to ask Matt and Foggy for more work to do to pay it off by, his labor belonged to them anyway.

He didn't have a craft he could make to sell. He didn't have anything he could use to earn a little extra.

But thirteen weeks was so long... and he wouldn't be allowed to kneel for Matt and be fed by him until it was done.

"The Academy does sell work by some of the students if they ask fro it and their masters approve, you can ask for advice on that when you start working with clay."

he doubted that his clay was anywhere good enough to sell like that. And he hadn't started taking his clay class yet.

"I will, thank you Matt." he said obediently.

There was still so much else he was excited about though.

Matt worked on preparing garlic and coriander naan, while Dove cooked the rice, and they were soon ready to serve up.

"Would you like to be hand fed today sweetheart?" Dove had been oddly hesitant about asking for that since he came off restriction.

"Is that, you wont mind doing that for me again? Do I deserve it?" He asked, barely daring to hope.

"Yes sweetheart, you deserve it, and I never mind handfeeding you." He hugged Dove and kissed him on the forehead.

He felt warm and happy inside, and a rare thing, worthy.

When the rice and naan were finished he set the table to be ready, removing a chair and placing the cushion so that he could kneel beside Matt properly.
