"It's good attention," Dove said, wanting Matt to know that he was okay and was ready to follow Matt's example.

"Yes it is." Matt agreed with a smile. "And it's just words right now after all."

"Good words," Dove added, and he allowed himself a moment of nervousness before calling up the lessons Gem gave him, he shifted into something more like a pose, like how Matt did with seeming natural grace, he schooled his posture to mirror Matt's, to consciously let himself move in a way that was alluring and attractive. In a way that would attract attention.

And it did. He could sense the eyes on the, the whisperes of the hot pets dancing. And he smiled, hoping that matt and foggy would be pleased with the effort.

"You're so beautiful, and I'm so lucky to have you." Matt whispered to Dove as they came to the end of their dance, and he escorted Dove back to the table, with a proud smile on his face.

He felt very good and proud too. And he hoped that Foggy would be pleased and impressed like Matt was.

Unless Foggy preferred him to be more demure and shy, he hadn't really thought about that.

"That was beautiful Dove. I'm glad you had fun." He kissed Dove on the cheek as he slid back in. "I might borrow you for a dance afterwards."

Dove felt very happy at the praise and he knew Matt wouldn't mind sharing him.

"I'll enjoy that, thank you," Dove replied.

"I'm looking forward to it." He smiled proudly at Dove as Matt nodded his own agreement.

Having Matt's approval meant everything to him, and he almost felt like a completely different person, out for an evening and feeling good and everything seemed right with the world.

He took another sip of his beer and smiled, the smells of food and alcohol and people having fun all around him adding to his enjoyment. And he bravely placed his hand on Matt's thigh, liking the feel of his protector beside him.

Overcome with good feelings, he leaned close to Matt and gently kissed his cheek.

Matt wrapped his arm around Dove, smiling proudly as the server arrived with their meals.

"Tuna?"

"That's my Dove's."

"Duck?"

"Mine, thank you." And then he set the swordfish in front of Foggy.

He gently pushed his cutlery towards Matt.

He was adapted enough to the culture now that the ritual wasn't necessary, but it was ingrained so deep that it didn't feel right to eat without it.

The waiter noticed though, wondering if it signified that the pet was not allowed to use cutlery, and asked if there was anything extra he could bring to accommodate the pet.

"No, that's not necessary, thank you. Matt is Dove's patron." He didn't think he needed to explain more than that.

The waiter nodded and left it at the offer. "Enjoy your meals," he said and when it seemed no one needed anything left to serve another table.

"I'd like to hand feed you your first bite my Dove. Is that okay with you?" Matt asked, voice low.

Dove nodded, "Yes, I'd very much like that," he answered as quietly.

"Good." Matt smiled happily, and fed Dove once Foggy had taken his first bite, leaving his own until he'd fed his treasure.

HIs heart raced a moment, doubt filling him as Matt put the food to his lips. Was this a trick? No, it couldn't be. Matt didn't do that.

He breathed slowly and opened his mouth, trusting Matt to take care of him as he always did. And he focused on cherishing the moment. He knew he'd screwed up so much lately and tonight was special. He really wanted to be the pet that Matt deserved.

(OOC: I really feel I owe an explanation for my absence because I feel like I bailed without warning. My sister went missing a while back. We recently discovered what happened to her and that she passed away over a year ago. Things have been crazy, trying to track down information and medical reports and police reports, what happened to the body!!!! and all kinds of things. Crazy crazy times. I'm doing better now.)

"My perfect Dove." Matt murmured, a sappy smile on his lips.

"Matt just wants to make it abundantly clear that he cherishes you." He explained to Dove, grinning as a thought occurred to him.

"Of course with another patron it would also be hinting that he wanted me to do this." and he reached over to grab Matt's fork, feeding him a piece of duck.

He felt loved... and very turned on. He would do anything for Matt. He was his.

And he lightly kissed Matt's wrist as his hand was near.

Matt leaned in and kissed Dove on the forehead,, pleased that he was initiating affection again.

It felt so good, and he'd been worried about kissing Matt without an invitation to do so, and he was so relieved that Matt wasn't rejecting him. Everything was getting to be so much better, and he was going to try so much harder.

He would be so good, he wouldn't misbehave anymore, he would be careful to do exactly as he was told. Anything to please his protector.

"You're so good for us. We're so very lucky to have you. Maybe when we get home I can put you in my lap and kiss you until you're breathless." Matt made hopeful plans, before pressing Dove's fork into his hand. "But we should eat now." Even if he would rather keep on kissing Dove.

He looked forward to it, but it didn't sound like Matt was wanting a response, he took the fork and started on his food, enjoying the taste a lot.

He tried to control his senses to encompass just their table, blocking out all the other noises around, wanting to focus solely on his protector and owner.
