Mod post

This post is for people who want to play more general roleplays, I'm leaving this unstructured, to play please comment with who you play (even if you think it should be obvious from your icon/username) and what sort of interaction you're looking for.

If someone wants more structure/to take over handling general roleplays please ask and I'll be happy to add at least one mod for this.

That's very cool. Maybe it could even be worked into the story, like once Matt and Foggy find out that ike is Daredevil, Foggy could suggest it as a defense if he ever gets arrested for vigilanteism. Matt would be unimpressed with the idea of offering himself up as a suspect, plus nobody would believe it could be him anyway.

If you have any kind of qualification in it, you know a hell of a lot more than me. I did my degree in European Studies, mostly to try to learn as many languages as I could and have a year overseas. Fun, but not something I use much now, unfortunately.

Mike could totally be outside. He might have left in a hurry because he noticed Matt approaching, and then hung out somewhere to check he hadn't been noticed. I guess there's a chance that Matt could find him now he's aware he's around, but with all the other people in the dorm it's very unlikely.

It probably does happen, but you don't her about it because they quickly go out of business! But I don't know, I don't see why it couldn't happen, if they did their research first and accepted they would be learning as they went (and kept their fee appropriately low as a result!). They started off very small, so it's not like they'd have had a huge workload. Especially if Foggy had this extra experience, and yeah it could have been in high school, I didn't think of that. And it's totally possible that Matt and Foggy aren't the same age, that could explain a lot. I mean, Foggy doesn't seem particularly mature student-like in the flashback scenes, and at that age a few years can make a huge difference, but it's totally possible he's older than he appears. (Elden Henson's older than Charlie Cox anyway, so it fits, sort of..)

(Very quick post before I leave for work, not read your other post yet, I'll look at lunch.)

LOL I hadn't even thought of that! (Oh, and I know very little about criminal law - my program didn't focus on that. I did have a prof. who was a criminal law atty., but I had him for constitutional law. So, like, the evil twin defense was just something I read somewhere, I think.)

I'm actually back in school again - this time for Business Information Systems... at my new school, I think a lot of my 'legal' classes transfered in as politcal science credits. (They must have, because I have a ton of them.) *shrugs* European Studies sounds like an adventure. :) I originally had started out as an accounting major - your way of going about things with a year abroad sounds a lot more fun...

I got to thinking - maybe Foggy's mother had parial custody, so when it was her turn, he'd spend a lot of time waiting around for her at their firm, so they put him to work, and it just sort of goes from there. ('Hey, kid, can you make some copies?') So, over time, he just picks up some skills. LOL. Poor thing.
From: (Anonymous)
That's a very good idea, he might also have overheard snippets of conversations that sounded interesting, maybe read the stuff he was copying, picked up a bit of what was going on and decided it sounded like it'd be interesting to do more than the photocopying. And if Mom and dad weren't that friendly, it's entirely possible that Dad and stepmom would try to encourage him To try something other than the law to give her less in common with his mom or maybe just so that he has options. Hence thinking beoming a butcher is such a great idea! Though I do kind of think it's more likely someone said it to him once as a career option when he was a kid or something though and it just stuck in his head for whatever reason.

Wow, that sounds like a pretty heavy course. What kind of thing does it involve? Are you enjoying it? European studies was a lot of fun, really interesting too, and I learned a few languages, which are always useful, but apart from that it's not something you can do a lot with. Not that I regret it or anything. If I went back in time, I'd do the exact same thing.

I was thinking... What if Mike's been sort of having Foggy do his laundry? lol As in, Mike has been wearing some of Matt's clothes - otherwise Matt would have noticed that he one day has a much bigger wardrobe? So Mike's been tossing his dirty laundry in the hamper before laundry day. (And he doesn't care which exact laundry he gets back, because it's all really Matt's anyway, well, save the guady items with the improper labels he's been adding... So, later he just grabs whatever and shoves it in his "school" bag...) So, away, Foggy is is bit miffed that he had to stay longer at the laudramat to do an extra load or two.

I like the courses so far. In my systems analysis and design course this semester, we even get to be creative. My final group project we're designing an ERP system for a pretend business. This summer I'm learning healthcare informatics and in the fall I'll be learning a lot about databases and business intelligence. It's weird - as a paralegal student, there were maybe 3 guys in the whole program. Now, as a BIS major, it's almost flipped. (One of my classes, I think I may be the only female in it. lol.)

Oh, and I like the stuff about the tug-of-war with Mom & Dad. LOL (g2g, lunch goes by so quick. lol)

Heh, poor Foggy. Why does Matt have him doing his laundry though? Or do they just share a hamper and throw it all in together and take turns? (If that's the case, Foggy would probably have to be then responsible for separating things out afterward) I honestly don't know how that would work, I never had a roommate at uni, it's not really a thing that happens here. But yeah, that could be funny, especially when Foggy finds out about Mike and it turns out the think he's most pissed about isn't being lied to, or the fact that he 'borrowed' a bunch of his text books, but those extra loads of laundry he had to do!

Strange how certain things attract different genders. It's a shame really, you'd think society should be past that by now, but there are definitely some jobs seen as for men and some as for women by large groups of people. I think things will look very different in a few generations..! :-)

I was thinking that they had separate hampers. They could be the kind that have wheels. (I live in an apartment complex and don't have a personal laundry hook up so my SO goes to his parents to do laundry - probably what inspired it.) Anyway, I was thinking that it's hard to navigate with a cane and the wheels, plus, the college laundromat is always crowded and I bet it'd be really hard to tell which machines are free and which are filled with laundry waiting to go to the next step. (At one of my old apartments, I would do my laundry at the shared coin machines... This girl would leave her stuff unattended in the machines. The load was done, but it was just sitting there... grr...) Oh, and maybe he really had to feel around inside to make sure it was empty? He couldn't just look. (At least, not when Foggy's there.)

I was thinking Foggy, having went with Matt the first time and seeing how difficult it was decided he'd do it to be nice, and Matt only had a little bit. (Didn't he arrive with only one bag?) Matt probably paid him in laundry detergent and coins for both their loads. (& Maybe Matt folded all their clothes sometimes?) It's just when things were getting bogged down with stupid that maybe Foggy cared. LOL. (I'm thinking Mike picked up those awful clothes at Salvation Army real cheap... Maybe one of the collared shirts is this ugly floral number that Mike decides he actually likes. lol.)

Yeah, I don't really get why there aren't a lot of women. Honestly, I was expecting somewhere closer to a 50/50 split and was shocked. There also isn't much of the older returning crowd either - usually they're going back for accounting, it seems. (Why would you want to go for accounting, you poor, poor, soul, I keep thinking. LOL Though, it is useful, and I'm sure they're thinking the same about me.) I think it's the possibility of maybe having to learn some programming languages and/or computer science that scares away the women. (Which neither is actually required, but yeah, it's a good idea to get some background in one or both.) Really, everything is logical in my major and just sounds scarier than it is. :)

This all makes total sense. It's been a while since I used a laundromat, those occasions I have, I've gone at stupid times to avoid the crowds. But yeah, in a busy one, Matt would definitely have trouble. They could maybe go together sometimes, because I bet Matt wouldn't want to feel like Foggy was having to help him with stuff, but other times Foggy might just do it for him, maybe because Matt's got loads to do or whatever, and since Foggy's going anyway, no harm in just taking the extra load too. But when that extra load gets bigger, it turns into a bit of a pain. Plus, when Mike does revel himself, he can thank Foggy for being such a good maid or something and really piss him off! hehe.

Oh yes on cheap, second hand clothes. I bet Mike gets all his stuff somewhere like that, and he saves the worst ones for Matt. But Mike deciding he likes one of them is ace. And maybe Foggy sees him in it one time after he knows about him, and for a second thinks it's Matt, and that Mike's got him again!

Weirdly, I know a few people who have gone back to school to do accounting. It must be a thing people do..!

A really sad thing people do! :p (I know, I was one, the first time around for quite a bit...)

I love Foggy upset about a few loads of laundry... I imagine them as reluctant friends, or pretend frenemies eventually.

LOL Yes - even after Matt's out of the awful clothes, Foggy still associating that with him, too... OMG Love it.

Oops, just noticed the anon fail. Do we have to be anon here? Was late at night and I forgot I was logged in. Sigh.
From: (Anonymous)
If it's easier, I can start logging in - I've had a dream-width account since 2009... Just never used it for anything much, really. lol (Was more of a LiveJournal-er back in the day... Was just checking on my old lj intro page I wrote in '08 - it talks about me reading Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr... law nerd... Omg...embarrassing...)
From: (Anonymous)
Can do, logged in can be easier for tracking stuff, but makes no real difference. I only got a dreamwidth account very recently, I'm still on livejournal, been there since about 2004. I just imported my blog over because I know a few people on here and it gives you the option to copy your entries to both blogs in one go. I figure with 12 years of entries I really don't want to lose, it doesn't hurt to have a backup.

Oh, that's cool. I may have to think about that importing thing.
