"Yes sweetheart, you deserve it, and I never mind handfeeding you." He hugged Dove and kissed him on the forehead.

He felt warm and happy inside, and a rare thing, worthy.

When the rice and naan were finished he set the table to be ready, removing a chair and placing the cushion so that he could kneel beside Matt properly.

Matt stroked Dove's hair with one hand while he waited for Foggy to take the first bite, then when it was time to start feeding Dove he tore off a piece of naan and gave Dove some curry wrapped inside it.

The attention and affection mixed in with being fed, (the old trauma of it so far behind now that he never associated it with matt or foggy), filled him anew with warmth.

It was the feeling of belonging. He belonged to Matt, and being fed felt like a physical aspect of that connection.

He was even learning how to be fed better- to do it the way pets should- with grace and obedience. Gem had been teaching him when they got together at the academy, finding a quiet space, kneeling together and she would direct him how to improve his posture, how to move his head and his lips the right way to appear more attractive. How to properly place his hands, relaxed and folded behind his back and out of the way. Tilt his head up just so. Make the correct appreciative noises, just a soft hum to show the food was good and appreciated.

He wondered if Matt noticed.

He smiled down at Dove, recognising what had to be Gem's training.

"You're so good for us."

"And you look very pretty." Foggy added. "Do you feel comfortable with that posture?"

Dove preened at the positive attention, that Foggy would call him pretty was a great compliment. And once he had his eyes fixed, he knew he really would look better.

He couldn't hold the posture for too long, he'd been practicing different kneeling postures Gem taught him while alone to get stronger at them.

"The more I practice, the stronger I get at holding postures," he assured Foggy. "Am I doing it right? Do I look like other pets?"

"You're doing it right, yes. But with your back I'm worried that you could be doing damage if the posture isn't comfortable."

"Yes, Foggy," he said obediently and eased the posture. Instructor Hart had taught him well the importance (and consequences)of obeying his safety guidelines. "Which posture do you prefer me to use?" he asked with humility.

"I like seeing you leaning against Matt, or feeling you lean against me, as long as it's comfortable for you."

Gem had told him it was rude for a pet to act too relaxed in their master's presence because a pet must always be ready to serve. But if that was how Foggy wanted him, then it couldn't be wrong.

He relaxed his posture, folding one foot under him so he could lean against Matt comfortably but without putting too much pressure on his protector. "Is this how you like?" he asked Foggy.

"Yes, that's it." Foggy answered simply, and Matt decided to expand.

"Leaning against us, relaxing like this, it's a display of trust."

He smiled, he liked it a lot when Matt and Foggy told him their preferences. He committed the posture to memory, intent on using it more to please them with. And it was far more comfortable than the more formal posture Gem taught him to use.

He opened his mouth for another bit of food as Matt fed him. "You make me feel so loved and good," he said after swallowing.

"You are good, so good for us, and we do love you, so very much." Matt assured Dove, stroking his hair.

He didnt know if he could feel happier than he did now.

Or more aroused.

And kneeling at Matt's side made him shiver with want.

"Do you want to play for a bit after supper?" Matt offered gently.

Dove licked his lips. "Yes, please."

"Maybe before you move to the bedroom I can hold Dove in my lap while you kiss him Matt? Would you like that Dove? It's okay to say no if you wouldn't."

Dove nodded. "Yes, that sounds wonderful," he agreed readily. He even had to squirm a little as he knelt in anticipation.

"You're so good for us." Matt told Dove, petting him with one hand and feeding them both with the other.

The petting was enough to make his heart accelerate and his breath catch with want. His lips parted, feeling warm and tingly all over and it was difficult to focus on Matt feeding him, but he tried, though maybe with a little more prompting than he should have needed. He felt Matt's finger gently caress his cheek before he knew to open his mouth and take the food in.

And eventually he could tell that Dove had eaten enough for him, so he focused on finishing his own meal.

he knew when Matt was done feeding him because he stopped alternating bites. He patiently remained kneeling and rested his head down on Matt's lap, the steady caress of Matt's hand petting his hair lulling him into a bit of a trance.

He knew Matt or Foggy would excuse him from the table when they were ready for him to clean up the dishes.

And once they were both finished he let Dove know, with a soft touch to the shoulder, and a few gentle words.

He lifted his head at Matt's prompting. "May I be excused to clean up?" he asked.

Of course he was granted permission; it was his duty to clean up after supper, but out of respect he always asked to be excused first.

He deliberately took his time, being careful and thorough in the task, taking pride in it because it was for Matt and Foggy that he did it.

They waited in the living room for him and when he finished he came to kneel and present himself to them. "how would you like me?"

"In my lap, your back against my chest, so I can hold you while Matt kisses you." Foggy explained, turning his body towards Matt a bit more as he spoke.
